I hope you are all starting to feel a little festive.

Anyone got their tree up yet?  I don't but I always love putting up the tree with all the sparkly lights and watching some cosy films by the fire, this is my fav month of the year for so many reasons.  

November’s Talk:

In short, as I am waiting for speaker to confirm! ( I know, but don ‘t worry, it always comes good!).  

Here we are in November already and we have another fab club night coming up. This time it’s going to be a helpful night to help us all stay safe in the technical world that we live in.

It will include info on how to stay safe in the online world and how to spot scammers, phishing etc on your socials, emails and phone!

It is a serious subject, but I feel that we all need to be aware, especially leading up to the festive period.

If you have any concerns, please bring those with you. If you have any knowledge, please bring some notes and share what you know.

It will be an interactive session and it will be useful.

Please bring your Secret Santa present value £10 (if you bring a gift, you will receive a gift).

If you would rather not join in with the Secret Santa that's absolutely fine, as it is done in a way that doesn't highlight if you do or don't, just don't bring a gift along and relax. You may choose not to for various reasons, including waste, sustainability reasons, but of course, those who bring a gift will receive a gift, and those who don't will not.

We will have some festive fun, fun music and a Festive raffle as usual, but the idea is that we relax together and enjoy being together before the New Year!

I will need to know if you are coming along please as it will make it easier for me and the venue to plan please, thank you, just an email or a message will do, but you don't need to let me know that you are not coming along :)

Roy ‘The Boy’ Allaway has been with Radio Woking from day one and hosted the launch show. Ex-Eagle Radio and host of “The Roy Allaway Breakfast Show on KLFM 96.7”, no longer can you “Start your day The Allaway” but he will try to make you laugh at the end of the day, although no promises.

Roy’s Happy Hour exists to help anyone get their message out or tell their story.

FLEET LIVE LAUGH LOVE LADIES FEBRUARY 2024 CLUB NIGHT INFO:

Paddy Hooper – Back due to popular demand! He was the most popular speaker that we had before we moved to Spice Merchant, he was brilliant, he did the most interesting presentation and so I would encourage you to come along if you can as some of his findings are amazing! 

Paddy has been metal detecting for a few years now and it has changed his life. This hobby has allowed him to meet so many amazing people and share so many brilliant moments with them. Metal detecting is not just about the finds which is what most people would think. It is also about the places you go and the people you meet.

During his three years of metal detecting he has found some great things, from bronze age ribbon gold later acquired by the British museum for it’s historical significance, to early 20^th century cap badges fallen from soldiers in WW1. Some of his favorite finds have been at times he didn’t expect anything good. It could be a miserable rainy day, the signals few and far between and then you dig up the best thing you’ve ever found from an unspectacular signal.

This hobby has changed his life and he hopes you get to experience it too and have as much fun as he does. It really is amazing to pull something out of the ground that was once treasured by someone and then treasure it yourself like they did possibly hundreds of years ago. It’s exciting to think about how long it has been in the ground for, how long has it been lost and who actually lost it.

His name is Patrick and I’m proud to walk through fields, searching for metal, proud to reveal and save England’s history, proud to be a metal detectorist.
