I am super excited to welcome you to our club, held in the heart of Wareham. We will offer you a very clean and cosy space with wonderful events and inspiring speakers. Where you can socialise with ladies who love to chat, laugh and meet in a very comfortable and safe environment. This is a social club for ladies, in addition we also offer one off special events throughout the year.

The Bear Wareham is a quirky cosy Inn, in the heart of the historic market town of Wareham situated within the beautiful isle of Purbecks. The Bear marries 18th century charm with modern day luxury. There is lots of parking either on the street, by the quay or behind Sainsbury’s opposite the venue. All street parking and car parks in Wareham are FREE after 6pm all year round. Parking is 2-3 minutes walk to The Bear.

We are delighted to introduce to you Simon Gudgeon one of the co-founders
of Sculpture by the Lakes, Dorset best kept secret. Nestled in 26 acres of
glorious countryside. Sculpture by the Lakes is a perfectly curated oasis, that
breaks down barriers between you and your surroundings.
Simon Gudgeon is one of the creators of
Sculpture by the Lakes.
Simon is a world-renowned sculptor. Simon and his wife
Monique are creatives in the purest form, inspiring and celebrating the
art of making.
Simon’s perpetual fascination with wildlife and the natural world is evident throughout his work. From his studio on-site, he continues to innovate, while honouring his core belief that sculpture must above all be beautiful, stimulate the senses and elevate the spirit.

A beautiful evening of Opera with Leila Zanette, our speaker and opera singer for the night, was born and raised in Kenya. Leila is a Mezzo-soprano of English and Italian nationality and completed her master’s degree and the Opera course at the Royal Academy of Music.
On the night, Leila will talk to us about her career, how opera is a
different way of singing and will give us our very own exclusive performance to enjoy.
As a young artist Leila is passionate
about fitness, her theatre work, and her private singing classes.
In the summer of 2022 Leila was
working as an Alvarez Young Artist with Garsington Opera, where she performed
in the chorus of Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Dvorjak’s Rusalka, as well as covering
the role of the 2nd Nymph in Rusalka. In the summer of 2021 Leila was with Garsington Opera, Leila
performed in the chorus of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and Rossini’s Le Comte
Ory, she also sung the role of Mezzo Corypheè.
Leila has also performed as a chorus member at the Grange Festival; in performances of Precipice in 2020 in Falstaff and Le nozze di Figaro where she appeared as the 2nd Bridesmaid in 2019.
In 2017 she covered the title
role of Carmen. Leila is a Young Artist with Opera Prelude and recently
performed as the Alto Soloist in her first Beethoven 9th Symphony
with other Opera Prelude soloists and the Henley Symphony Orchestra.
Her story and work is varied and I
know you are in for a treat with a private operatic evening.
