Meet Paul one of the hard working volunteers who search for missing people all over Dorset.
Surveyor by day and missing people searcher by night!
Paul loves getting dirty in the woods at night with the other DorSAR volunteers, quite often climbing through swamps of mud on his hands and knees.
From Hill to High Water they search for that missing person. Dorset Search & Rescue is a team of highly trained volunteers who work with the Police, Coastguard and other emergency services in the search, rescue or recovery of High Risk and Vulnerable missing persons. Paul will share with us their aims and a few stories, although he will be a little restricted in revealing too much information about certain searches, as they are governed in part by Dorset Police.

Come and join us to meet the one and only Wareham Town Crier. Jacquie will share her story and the insights of life as a Town Crier.
Jacquie can sometimes be seen in the centre of town, and at the market on the Quay, on a Saturday morning. Jacquie has also accompanied the Wareham Mayors during the Beating of the Bounds, an ancient tradition between Wareham and Poole in making sure we understand the 'bounds' of our areas visiting the markers around Poole Harbour.
Jacquie is always seen greeting guests at the Mayor's various charity events.
Her duties include many civic duties during the
year, which includes the Civic Parade, Mayor Making, Mayor’s Reception and
Christmas Party, and Remembrance Day parade.
Jacquie enters into Town Crier competitions around the South and abroad,
promoting Wareham and the surrounding area. She has come first at Melksham, and
had a creditable equal third at Lyme Regis, and a second at Ilminster. The
judging criteria includes volume, clarity, inflection and diction.
She runs the annual Wareham Town Criers’ competition on the green by the river on the second Saturday of July, when many criers visit our lovely town, and make a very colourful addition to the atmosphere.
