Rolls-Royce & The Silver Lady - A tragic love story!

We are joined by Kevin, who will telling us a true love story! The Silver Lady, or Spirit of Ecstasy mascot, has been associated with Rolls-Royce motor cars since the early days. We will be hearing about the tragic love story of a couple, Lord Montague of Beaulieu and Eleanor Thornton who was the model for the winged figure that has adorned thousands of Rolls-Royce radiators.

Presentation by author and historian Kevin Patience whose experiences of vintage Rolls-Royce motor cars developed this fascinating insight into a little-known aspect of the marque’s history.

Christmas Quiz Fun and Games.

The last 3 years we have always done something creative all things Christmas.

This year we are holding our very own Christmas quiz night along with lots of fun and games.

An opportunity to chill, let your hair down and have lots of fun and giggles.

Christmas jumper and sparkles theme - optional but as you know it increases the fun.

The evening will consist of a hot supper and a few prizes along the way.

Kimmeridge Ridgeway and Steeple Church Walk - Guided walk with Andy from Jurassic Jaunts.

Meet at the QUARRY CAR PARK 17:45 for a prompt 18.00 start.

This will start from the 'Quarry Car park', just before entering Kimmeridge village.

Great views across Kimmeridge Bay, the Nodding Donkey oil extraction site, Clavell’s Tower and along the coast, we will visit Steeple Church, with its very special barrel organ and the George Washington connections then through Steeple Leaze farm and back up onto the Ridgeway returning along the Ridgeway to the car park. This will be approx 1 hour walk with regular stops at a gentle pace. 

Price includes the walking guide only.  *Subject to change.  Please bring your own picnic and drinks, we will stop at the end somewhere nice to enjoy our picnic.  Please bring water and raincoat (if applicable) for the walk and wear suitable walking shoes.

-Going towards Swanage via Wareham, turn right off the Wareham bypass towards Kimmeridge.

-Go up onto the ranges and along the top, follow the sharp left hand bend

- Follow the road down through the valley and turn right for Kimmeridge

-After the buildings on the right, go down through the big dip and up the other side until you reach a right-hand bend with a junction to the left

-Follow around to the right and the car park is immediately on your left.

If you are coming via the ferry, go to Corfe Castle, straight across the staggered junction towards

Kimmeridge and take the 2nd left towards Kimmeridge after Church Knowle village.

Visit to The Blue Pool with cream tea.

Discover the hidden gem of The Blue Pool, set in the 300-acre Furzebrook Estate on the beautiful Isle of Purbeck. 

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon out in nature, strolling through woodland, spotting wildlife, and unwinding at scenic viewpoints around the Pool. Cross the UK’s longest rope bridge for a unique experience and enjoy a delicious traditional cream tea in our private area in their Tearooms. 

The Blue pool is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry companions along.  A stunning location for a day time get together.

We will start off with a beautiful walk around this gorgeous location followed by a traditional cream tea in our own private area the Nouveau room at the tearooms at 2.30pm. The cream tea consists of 2 Homemade scones with Dorset strawberry jam, cream and a pot of tea.  There is a selection of savouries and cakes available to purchase should you wish. 

We will meet outside for 12.30pm, free parking at The Blue Pool. Caroline your host will purchase the tickets on arrival once everyone has arrived. We will start at 12.40pm promptly to enjoy the space.

There is a gift shop on site should you wish to peruse and purchase aswell as an ice-cream parlour. 

Please wear suitable closed shoes and prepare for all weathers. Please state any dietary requirements at time of booking.

Join us for our Christmas party and get together.

We have the amazing Kelly Lorraine Vocalist who covers all tastes of music, she's also a Tina Turner and Stevie Nicks Tribute, you will not be disappointed, for those who joined us at the Hoedown 10th birthday party in Poole last year she was the main singer who got everyone up on their feet.

This evening there is music, dancing and a buffet to get you into the Christmas spirt.

Timings are slightly longer 7pm to 10.30pm.
