Hi everyone, I’d like to introduce myself to you all, my
name is Linda Weeks and I am thrilled to host at two wonderful Live Laugh Love Ladies Clubs - In September 2016 we launched the Club ain Ringwood at the Lantern Cafe and that same month also took over the Club at the gorgeous Millstream Bistro at Walford Mill in Wimborne. The start of this year we move to a fabulous new Ringwood venue at the Elm Tree - Hightown Road, held in the Tythe Barn which has a wonderful atmosphere and will allow us to grow as a club. Both the Ringwood and Wimborne venues are renouned for their wonderful food and I am so delighted to bring lots of ladies together to meet and make new friends whilst enjoying a variety of interesting and inspirting speakers. I live
in St Leonards now (having previously been in Colehill for 5 years) with my Husband Sid and I’m a proud Mum and a Grandma to our
four gorgeous granddaughters. I initially met Michelle who founded
Live-Laugh-Love whilst I was working
with World Vision a worldwide charity helping to support children and families
through child sponsorship. My life and career has been an interesting one, I’m originally from Sheffield, I came to Bournemouth for a holiday staying
with my Auntie at the age of 17 – I was on my summer break from Secretarial
College but decided to stay on and
started out as a secretary in Bournemouth in 1973…..
Some – well just a few years later here I am, the years in
between have been wonderful, a gorgeous family,
a career in social retailing that fitted around my family and offered me
the freedom to work around them, always keeping them as my main priority – some
wonderful travels – some very proud moments and also those challenges that come
along when you least expect them!
The year 2001 was probably one of my biggest challenges when
after registering to take part in the Playtex Moonwalk in aid of Breast Cancer
– 26 miles around London starting out at midnight – I was diagnosed with Breast
Cancer myself (4 days before the event) as you can imagine I was very
determined to complete the challenge and went on to repeat the experience in
2004 just to illustrate that I had beaten this evil disease. I’ve gone on to raise money for various
Charities – with over £12,00 raised for CLIC Sargent and here I am now still
focused and determined to live life to the full and treasure friends and
wonderful memories that are made together every day.
I was thrilled when I heard of Michelle’s idea to create
Live-Laugh-Love and so delighted that it has grown into such a great success
for everyone involved, the greatest success is that it has brought together
many ladies from across the county to grow and develop new friendships – to
share and hear one another’s stories and journeys through life, hear some
wonderful speakers and develop and build a comradery of support for one another
within the community.
I couldn’t think of a lovelier thing to do than re-create
the success that Michelle has built at Compton Acres in Ringwood and Wimborne or more fabulous venues - The Lantern – like the club it’s the most special community who work
together, support one another and really make a difference to people’s lives.
I really look forward to welcoming you to the group at the Elm Tree and the Millstream Bistro – do bring along your friends and let’s make a really special experience for you all to share and enjoy as you make new friendships and build on existing ones.
