Surviving a Lifetime of working in the NHS
I qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 1979 (a lifetime ago now) and have worked in the NHS ever since.
I manage the Adult SLT service in Somerset, still work as a clinician and working life has never, ever been boring. It can be so frustrating, has very sad times and amazing uplifting moments also. I love my work and never tire of talking about it, come along and find out why working in the NHS is something of which I am so proud.
Dendy is also very involved in CUDOS, Crewkerne' s Dramatic and Operatic Society and running Crewkerne's Choir too, her energy knows no bounds, hopefully she will have a bit of time to talk briefly on this too.
Ros Nelmes is coming to speak to us about the fascinating and intoxicating(!) topic of Gin on Thursday 24th May between 7pm and 9pm at The Helyar Arms.
Ros Nelmes is the creator of Fordington Gin, a new and contemporary London Dry Gin with a special and uniquely magical twist based on absinthe botanicals. She creates it at her home in Dorchester and is totally passionate about her product. Ros has an extensive knowledge of the world of gin, including those made in Somerset and gives talks on the history and making of gin over the decades on a regular basis. Come along, taste and learn about the world of Gin. To look at Ros's website click on... https://fordingtongin.co.uk
